AKBC Overview

AKBC is non-profit organization founded in 2020 to work for peace for the individual and the world.
(Balwonsa temple at Young Do, Busan had started first a research center of classical Buddhist Texts in 2016 with future plan to set up a global organization that led to establishment of AKBC)

Mission

  • Ⅰ. Share wisdom from 1700 years long tradition of Korean buddhist culture with people all over for universal peace and co-existence.
  • Ⅱ. Disseminate wisdom of Buddha widely, both at home and abroad, to eradicate ignorance about self and surrounding and promote compassion.
  • Ⅲ. Work toether to share universal value of humanity without any prejudice.
  • Ⅳ. Build a global network of concerned people and organizations for the above purpose

Affiliated Institutions

  • Ⅰ English Research Center of Buddhist Texts (ERCEBT) to disseminate discourses of buddha in a language easy to access the primary sources available in Pali, Chinese, Korean and English
  • Ⅱ ERCEBT ACADEMY recognized by Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism to educate laymen on Buddhism.

Planning and preparations are in progress and expected date is early May 2022 at Young Do, Busan, South Korea

  • Ⅰ Translation of Classical Zen text into English
    (presently translation work is in progress on 禪要)
  • Ⅱ Publication of Classical Zen text '書狀' (2018)
  • Ⅲ Lecture and practice on Buddhist Meditation of both Vipassana and Zen traditions
  • Ⅳ Youtube lecture /presentation content development
  • Ⅴ Seeking answers to suffering at home and abroad
